Run up. Slide down. You versus the clock.
Bring your crew to race against a team of rivals or be a solo challenger.
Starting with your on-the-ground briefing, you’ll be ushered to the start line for your exclusive slot. On the starter’s gun you’ll fly off one challenger at a time, into the staircase chamber, that skirts the 178m to the viewing platform at the top of London’s iconic ArcelorMittal Orbit. Can you keep your head start before the next challenger overtakes you?
Keep your head as you look out through the staircase walls, escalating up over the London Stadium, Canary Wharf, Westfield Stratford City, Docklands and the City of London. As your legs feel the burn and your heart races to keep up, you’ll orbit the loops and curves of Sir Anish Kapoor’s structure 6 times before your 455th step to the top across the finish line.
Take a moment to enjoy the view, grab a drink and catch your breath – before the hair-raising slide down. Opened in 2016, The Slide was named No.1 Thing to Do in London by Time Out, promising a 45-second thrill through clear and dark sections including the ‘bettfeder’ – that’s German for ‘bedspring’ and the final 50m straight into the landing zone.
Your climb time will be ready for you to pick up instantly from the UpSlideDown hub, with our live individual and team leaderboards showing your ranking amongst your fellow challengers.
Challengers are welcomed as individuals or in teams of 5. Places are limited and must be booked in advance. Entry fees include an exclusive UpSlideDown head band, medal and a goody bag for each challenger.
